Racing Divisions

Dragon Boat racing is broken into racing divisions based on two criteria: age and gender.

AGE DIVISIONS
Premier - The fastest adult paddlers, regardless of age
Senior A - Paddlers who are at least 40 by 12/31 the year of event.
Senior B - Paddlers at least 50 years of age.

Senior C- Paddlers at least 60 years of age
Youth - Paddlers between 12 and 18 years of age.

GENDER DIVISIONS
Open - No restrictions on gender balance, but the Open roster is typically

all male. Sometimes referred to as the Men's division.
Mixed - Must include 8-10 of each gender on a team of 16-20 paddlers.
Women - All 20 paddlers must be women.

EXAMPLES
Divisions are named by gender, then age. 
Premier Open - Typically all men in their 20s, 30s, and occasionally older.
Premier Women - All women in their 20's 30's and occasionally older.
Senior Mixed - Typically 10 men and 10 women, all of them 40 years of age and older.
