Our Membership Committee invites you to join us for dinner and drinks after Sunday practices. Location close to the river--either in Manayunk or Fairmount.
The Philadelphia Dragon Boat Association recruits and trains new members during the spring and summer each year. Many of our members are aiming to race in the World Championships so practice is intense. We believe we offer the best deal around. Dues are modest, paddle pool sessions are free, we pay race fees, a week long camp in Tampa is basically free, we have numerous OC-1s for use at the river.
We are looking for physically fit recruits of all ages. We will be happy to teach you how to be a great dragon boat paddler, but expect you to be able to keep up with the physical rigor of our practices. Practices begin and end at the West River Drive Dragon Boat Docks located just off of Black Road.
Our annual dues are $250 (with an Early Bird Discount of $225 if paid before April 1). Newcomers are allowed 4 weeks of practices to decide if paddling is for them before paying dues. Out of town members (50+ miles from Philly) are allowed 3 months of free membership before paying dues.
We are continuing are legacy program for the 2020 season. If you are under the age of 30, dues are only $50. This discount will continue until you turn 31. This also includes a change in youth team dues.
Dues can be paid via our online store.
